SCAC Women's Swimming & Diving Recap - Week Six

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Six of the seven Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference women's swimming and diving teams competed last week, highlighted by multiple b-cut performances and a pair of SCAC records.

McMurry University and Southwestern University both competed in San Antonio last week at the Trinity University Invitational, while Colorado College traveled to Chicago for the Phoenix Fall Classic and the University of Ozarks and Austin College competed in a tri-meet in Arkansas.

At the Trinity Invite, Southwestern's Rehgan Hartsell posted a pair of NCAA B-Cuts in the 100 and 200 breaststroke. Her time of 1:03.63 in the 100 breast breaks the SCAC Open record that has been in place since 2011 (1:03.92 - Catie Bake, Depauw).

Trinity's Lindsay Hagmann had a strong week as well, posting a time of 51.20 seconds in the lead-off leg of the 400 freestyle relay, earning a b-cut mark. Hagmann also recorded a b-cut time in the 50 free, 23.65 seconds.

Hagmann joined teammates Abbie Jones, Lauren Cuda and Elizabeth Ryan for the 400 freestyle relay, recording a time of 3:29.18, which marks a NCAA B-Cut and a SCAC open record. The former SCAC record was set by Colorado College in 2014 with a time of 3:30.82.

In the meet, Trinity took second place, while Southwestern finished in fourth and McMurry took sixth.

Colorado College took sixth at the Phoenix Fall Invitational, highlighted by Jio Chang's third place finish in the 200 freestyle (1:57.41) and a fifth place finish in the 3-meter diving competition by Mary Rose Donahue. Chang was closely followed by teammate Selma Jukic in the 200 free, the event's fifth place finisher with a time of 1:57.71. The other top-10 individual result came from senior Ellen Silk, who finished 10th in the 100 butterfly (59.43 seconds).

In a double-dual meet between Austin College, Ozarks and Hendrix College, the 'Roos were able to earn the win over the Eagles, while falling to Hendrix.
