LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - The six Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference women's tennis teams had a strong showing, posting a combined record of 16-6 last week.
Every team in the league finished .500 or above last week, with two teams going undefeated.
Trinity University posted a 4-0 record, defeating #40 Caltech, Austin College, Hardin-Simmons and East Texas Baptist. The Tigers closest match came in a 6-3 win over Caltech. They earned a pair of 8-1 wins over AC and HSU and shutout ETBU, 9-0.
Southwestern University only had two matches last week, but they posted 9-0 wins in both. The Pirates defeating Howard Payne on the road before earning the victory over LeTourneau at home.
Continuing their spring break action, Colorado College went 3-1 last week, defeating North Central (Ill.) and Calvin College by 9-0 scores, while taking down William Smith 6-3. The Tigers only loss came to #35 Denison University.
Austin College also picked up three wins, including a huge win over #40 Caltech. The 'Roos also took down Mary Hardin-Baylor, 9-0, and Concordia (TX), 8-1.
Schreiner University went 2-1 over the stretch, falling to UW-Eau Claire, but defeating UMHB, 7-2, and HSU, 5-4.
Rounding out last week's action is Texas Lutheran University. The Bulldogs went 2-2, defeating Howard Payne and Southwest (NM) and falling to Division II Colorado Christian and McMurry University.
