LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - After another pair of wins over the weekend, the Trinity University women's basketball team moved up in the national polls.
Trinity entered the top 10 in the D3hoops.com poll, coming in at No. 9, while they moved one spot to No. 11 in the Women's Baskeball Coaches Association rankings.
The Tigers, now 22-1 on the season and 11-1 in conference play, defeated both Austin College and Centenary College in a pair of close games.
The 'Roos (17-1, 9-4 SCAC) battled it out with Trinity, leading after the first quarter and holding a late two-point lead with 2:26 remaining in the game. The Tigers fought back and went on an 11-2 run to earn the 63-56 win.
In Saturday's game against Centenary (6-18, 2-11 SCAC), the Tigers were up by four at halftime, but the Ladies outscored them by six to take a third quarter lead. Trinity dominated the final stanza and won 67-59.
Trinity will face Schreiner University (10-13, 7-6 SCAC) twice in three days this week to close out the regular season.
