LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The Trinity University women’s basketball team jumped into the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) top 25 rankings Tuesday.
Trinity is also receiving the most votes of any unranked team in the latest D3hoops.com poll.
The Tigers earned a pair of non-conference wins last weekend to move to 7-0 on the season. This matches the best start to the season under Head Coach Cameron Hill, and is the best for the program since the 2003-2004 season when the Tigers began 8-0.
This season, Trinity is averaging 71.1 points per game on 44.1% shooting, while allowing just 54.0 points by their opponents, who are shooting 28.7% from the field. The Tigers field goal defense ranks ninth in the nation.
The Tigers will travel to the Pacific Northwest Tournament next, facing Puget Sound and Pacific Lutheran. Following that trip, they will return home to take on Hanover and No. 12 George Fox in San Antonio.
