LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The Trinity University women's basketball team made significant jumps in both the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and D3hoops.com polls after the holiday break.
Trinity moved from No. 21 to No. 16 in the WBCA rankings, while jumped up to No. 14 in the D3hoops poll – they were previously ranked 18th. For the first time this season, Austin College (9-3) is also receiving votes in the WBCA poll - the fourth-most of those outside the top 25.
Trinity went 2-0 over the break to remain undefeated on the season. The Tigers recorded an overtime 83-78 win over No. 18/20 George Fox University. This was the second win of the year over a nationally-ranked Northwest Conference team. Trinity previously beat No. 20/18 Puget Sound, 68-65.
The Tigers have finished their non-conference slate and will begin SCAC action Friday against Austin College (9-3).
