LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- The Trinity University women's basketball team moved up in both national polls this week after closing out the regular season with another pair of wins.
Trinity (24-1, 13-1 SCAC) moved up one spot in the D3hoops.com poll to No. 8, and one spot in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) rankings to No. 10.
The Tigers clinched the SCAC tournament top seed and the regular season title after defeating Schreiner University twice last week. Trinity is currently averaging 75.6 points per game, while allowing opponents to score just 59.4. They're also holding opponents to 35.4% shooting from the field and 25.8% from distance.
The Tigers will begin the SCAC Tournament Saturday against the winner of the quarterfinal game between Schreiner University and Southwestern University.
