RYLIE BALDERAS OF AUSTIN COLLEGE, a sophomore midfielder from Rockwall, Texas, has been named the SCAC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for games played from Monday, October 13th through Sunday, October 19th. SCAC Women's Soccer Release (Week 8)

Balderas had a career day on Sunday as Austin College topped Dallas 4-0 in the team's lone game of the week. Balderas recorded a hat trick in the victory, doing so in a span of less than 10 minutes early in the second half to help the 'Roos put the game out of reach while earning three valuable points in the team's run to make the SCAC Tournament. The hat trick was the first in her collegiate career and the first HT in an SCAC contest in Austin College program history. The win also gave the ‘Roos their third conference win of the season, tying for the most since winning six during the 2014 season.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior forward Maddie Oberholtzer of Concordia (TX) recorded her first brace of the season, scoring twice in the Tornados’, 4-1, win over Schreiner at home on Friday. Oberholtzer scored the opening goal of the match, finding the back of the back of the net just 11 seconds into the contest and then added an insurance marker in the 77th minute. First-year forward Reagan Parks of LeTourneau scored the game-winning goal in the YellowJackets’, 1-0, win over Dallas on Friday night. Parks scored her third goal of the season in the 50th minute to lift LeTourneau to victory. Sophomore midfielder Cienna Rodriguez of McMurry scored the War Hawks’ lone goal of the week, securing a 1-1 draw on the road against TLU last Friday. Senior forward Abigail Davila of St. Thomas lifted the Celts to a pair of key SCAC wins against Hendrix and Ozarks. Davila scored the opening goal in the Celts’, 2-1, win over the Warriors on Friday and then returned to score the game-winning goal in a 2-0 win over the Eagles on Sunday. Her efforts have helped lift St. Thomas to a three-game SCAC win streak, the longest in program history, and the five conference wins to this point have already set a new program high for league wins in a single season. Sophomore forward Lilly Noblett of Texas Lutheran scored two game-winning goals in the Bulldogs’ three-game slate including a late winner against Southwestern that landed No. 8 on SportsCenter Top 10 plays. Noblett is now tied for second in the SCAC in goals.
