Kovacs had a huge week as the 'Roos went 3-1, totaling 87 digs for an average of 7.25 per set, including 8.83 per set against SCAC foes. Kovacs set an Austin College record for the most digs in a three-set match when she posted 29 in a 3-0 sweep of McMurry, and followed that up with 24 in another sweep over Dallas. Kovacs also had 15 assists and nine service aces for the week.
Other impressive performances in the SCAC:
Senior libero/defensive specialist Faith Coldewey of Texas Lutheran continues to be a defensive standout for the Bulldogs, tallying 42 digs on the week - an average of 7.0 per set. Senior libero/defensive specialist Kara Spice of St. Thomas was a defensive powerhouse this weekend, totaling 124 digs across four matches (6.93 per set) while moving into second place in the conference in digs per set, averaging an impressive 7.00 for the season. In a thrilling 3-2 win over Hardin-Simmons, she recorded 31 digs, showcasing her ability to keep rallies alive and provide momentum for her team. Junior defensive specialist Jenna Palomarez of Schreiner had 25 digs (8.33) while scoring at 56% on her serve in the Mountaineers' 3-0 sweep of Concordia (Texas). Senior libero Hannah Page of McMurry averaged 5.17 digs per set as the War Hawks split a pair of conference matches over the week. She had 21 digs (7.00 per set) in the 3-0 sweep of Centenary on Friday.
