Coldewey paced the Bulldogs en route to the team's 3-0 weekend sweep of McMurry, Centenary and Dallas in SCAC crossover competition. The senior led the way with a team-high 54 digs (6.00 per set), and in the process, surpassed 1,000 career digs. She and the TLU defense held their opponents to a collective .089 hitting percentage on the weekend.
Coldewey currently leads the SCAC in digs per set (5.70) and is third in total digs (376).
Other impressive performances in the SCAC:
Junior libero Jenna Rodriguez of Trinity was key in the Tigers' wins over St. Thomas, Austin College, and Colorado College this weekend. During those matches, Rodriguez totaled 74 digs (5.69 per set), including 27 in four sets against St. Thomas (6.75 digs per set) and a weekend-high 28 digs against Austin College (5.60 digs per set). Junior outside hitter Malarie Mican of Concordia (Texas) was on fire at the SCAC Crossover this weekend as she led the Tornados in both digs (73) and aces (11). In a five-set thriller with McMurry, Mican posted a career-high 35 digs and added four aces and 15 kills. Sophomore defensive specialist/libero Meghan Gannon of Colorado College collected a season-high 28 digs in CC's upset win over No. 17 Southwestern and recorded a career-high four service aces the following day against 21st ranked Trinity. Senior libero Hannah Page of McMurry had 42 digs (3.23 per set) in three conference matches as the War Hawks posted a pair of 3-2 wins over Concordia (Texas) and Schreiner. Senior libero/defensive specialist Kara Spice of St. Thomas had 71 digs (6.45 per set) as the Celts dropped three conference matches over the weekend. Junior outside hitter Payton Sheflit of Southwestern totaled thirty digs, averaging 2.73 digs per set, with a high of sixteen digs in the Pirates' 3-0 sweep of Austin College. Junior libero Daly Nagot of Centenary had a solid weekend for the Ladies in three league matches as she totaled 43 digs (4.78 per set) and seven assists. Nagot tallied 12 or more digs in all three matches and a season-high 16 on Sunday against Concordia.
