SEGUIN, Texas – Four different players each drove in a run as third-seeded University of St. Thomas recorded a 4-2 victory over sixth-seeded Austin College in game two of the 2024 SCAC Softball championship, on Friday afternoon. HOW IT HAPPENED
- Trailing 2-1 after the first, Southwestern broke the game open in the second and third innings as the Pirates extended their lead to 7-2. A bases loaded walk and a sac fly gave Southwestern a 3-2 lead.
- The Pirates extended the lead in the bottom of the third with three bases loaded walks and a line out that scored a run to make it 7-2.
- Centenary pushec across a run in the top of the fifth to cut the Southwestern lead to 7-3 before the Pirates tacked on an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth for the winning margin.

- St. Thomas improves to 6-2 all-time in SCAC Softball tournament play. The Celts also improved to 1-0 versus Austi College in SCAC postseason play.
- The loss drops Austin College to 5-11 alll-time in the SCAC Softball championship.
- St. Thomas improved to 23-12 on the season.
- Austin College saw its record fall to 18-21.
