WYATT WILSON OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore from New Braunfels, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Track Athlete of the Week for meets held from Monday, April 10 through Sunday, April 16. SCAC Track & Field Weekly Release - Week 7
Wilson clocked a wind aided 10.58 in the 100 at the War Hawk Classic. He currently sits second in that event in the SCAC with a previous wind legal 10.74. He also ran a PR in the 200 in 21.77 (good for third in SCAC).
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior Bryce McIntyre of St. Thomas blazed the competition at the SFA Carl Knight Invitational by turning in a speedy 10.91 in the 100 meters. This ranked him in top five in his heat and secured seventh place overall in the SCAC. First-year Johnny Olmsted of Dallas broke his own school record in the 400 meters and placed seventh at the War Hawk Classic as his finishing mark of 49.28 currently ranks fifth in conference. He also competed in the 200 meters and posted a mark of 22.41, also a lifetime PR. Sophomore Will Salony of Trinity ran a new season best in the 1500 at the Azusa Pacific of 3:52.54 - a time that ties him for first in the SCAC.
