ASHLYN STROTHER OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a senior right-hander from Seabrook, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Pitcher-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, February 13 through Sunday, February 19. SCAC Softball Release - Week 2
Strother picked up right where she left off last season tossing a complete game shutout against Division-II #19 St. Mary’s - only allowing one hit and one walk in seven innings. Strother is the only pitcher to shut out the Rattlers so far this season and maintained a no-hitter through 3.2 innings.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First-year pitcher Kylynne Kusak of Schreiner made three appearances last week in the circle for the Mountaineers, finishing with 19 innings pitched, scattering 21 hits and striking out 11. She finished with one win and posted a sparkling 2.21 ERA.
