LINDSAY BEVILLE OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a first-year from New Braunfels, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for matches played from Monday, February 26 to Sunday, March 3. SCAC Women's Tennis Release (Week 5)
Beville won both her singles matches from the No. 1 spot, defeating her opponents from Covenant College (6-2, 6-3) and Austin College (6-0, 6-0), to pick up her second and third victories of the season.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
First-year Mackenzie Griffin of Schreiner went 2-0 at No. 5 singles over the weekend, which included a come-from-behind 2-6, 6-4, 10-7 victory against her opponent from East Texas Bapitst. Sophomore Ella Mullins of St. Thomas went 2-0 in singles play for the Celts, which included a hard fought 6-4, 10-8 win at the No. 2 line that clinched the victory against McMurry. Senior Cate Cushing of Trinity clinched Sunday's 7-2 victory for the 14th-ranked Tigers against University of Texas-Dallas with her 6-4, 6-1 singles victory at No. 6 singles.
