SEGUIN, Texas – Top-seeded and host Texas Lutheran rode the arm of pitcher Sydney Ouellette as she tossed seven innings while scattering three hits and one unearned run in the Bulldogs' 5-1 win over Southwestern in second round play at the 2024 SCAC Softball tournament on Friday afternoon. HOW IT HAPPENED
- Ouellette kept the Pirates at bay while scattering three hits on the afernoon.
- Texas Lutheran jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead on an RBI groundout from Kylee Jack and a Serena Gonzalez RBI single.
- Southwestern scored its lone run on a throwing error in the second, which cut the Bulldog lead to 2-1.
- The Bulldogs added insurance runs in the bottom of the second and third, highlighted by double from Jack and a single from Bella Rodriguez to advance to the winner's bracket championship game on Saturday afternoon.
