TOBEY WILLS OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a senior from Richmond, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played from Wednesday, March 19 through Tuesday, March 25. SCAC Golf Release (Spring - Week 6)
Wills earned his fifth top ten finish of the season on Tuesday, finishing in second place with a score of 138 (-6), while the Texas Lutheran men's golf team also finished as the tournament's runner-up at the 2025 Linda Lowery Invitational.
Wills led the Bulldogs Tuesday with a seven-under final round to climb eight spots on the leaderboard and finish one shot back of the tournament's winner, Jacob Pena from Texas A&M - San Antonio. Wills' seven-under round was the best round of the tournament by any golfer in either round.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Antonio Ramirez of St. Thomas finished third overall at -3 (141) after an opening-round 69 (-3) and an even-par 72 in round two at the Linda Lowery Invitational. The Celts tied for fourth place at the even held at the Teravista Golf Club. Junior Kaden English of Concordia (Texas) paced the Tornados at their home event, the Linda Lowery Invitational. English shot rounds of 73 and 71 to finish at 144 even par. He played a steady two rounds of golf with a field-best 25 pars and a team-best six birdies as he surged up six spots after Tuesday's final round. Senior Bryce Steimert of Southwestern finished at +1 (217) and tied for 22nd at the Jekyll Island Collegiate which wrapped up on Sunday. Steimert, who had rounds of 73, 72 and 72, led the Pirates to a 13th place team finish among a field that included several of the best squads in all of Division III. Junior Iain Griggs of Dallas posted a top 10 finish at the Linda Lowery Invitational, firing rounds of 70 and 77 to finish at 147 (+3). His opening round 70 tied for the fourth lowest round of the day on Monday.
