CULLEN MOTSINGER OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a senior outfielder from Houston, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Hitter of the Week for games played from Sunday, April 26 through Sunday, May 2.
Montsinger hit .353 for the week as the Bulldogs went 3-1 with a road win at No. 1 Trinity and a series victory (two of three) at No. 20 Centenary. Motsinger had a hit, a run scored, and a stolen base in the win at Trinity. In the series against Centenary, he hit .357 with four runs scored, two doubles, four RBI, two walks and a steal. He had a on-base percentage of .450 and a slugging percentage of .471 for the week.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
First-year utility Michael Anderson of Dallas batted .500 over two games, and had the winning RBI on a sacrifice fly out in the 10th inning, as the Crusaders swept Austin College on Saturday. Anderson went 3-for-4 in game one at Sherman and picked up two stolen bases, which contributed to a team total of 11 on the day. He also scored a run in both victories.
