TRISTON MCGOWAN OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a junior right-handed pitcher from Vidor, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played from Monday, April 21 through Sunday, April 27. SCAC Baseball Release - Week 12
McGowan tossed a complete game shutout in the Bulldogs' season finale to complete the sweep of Schreiner, striking out four while allowing just five hits and four walks in the nine inning performance. It was his fourth complete game of the season, pushing his total innings pitched to 75.1 (2nd in SCAC) and his four strikeouts improved his season total to 59 (5th in SCAC).

Senior left-hander Trystan Mallory of Ausitn College had an outstanding game in the final start of his collegiate career, going the distance in a 9-1 victory, giving up one run on six hits in nine innings with seven strikeouts against the University of the Ozarks to help the 'Roos pull out the series victory to end the 2025 campaign. Making his final regular season start for the Tornados, senior left-hander Otto Franz of Concordia (Texas) tossed a complete-game shutout in a 10-0 victory over St. Thomas. The southpaw struck out three batters and only allowed just eight Celts batters on base in his seven innings of work. Junior right-hander Jake Estrada of Ozarks scattered six hits over seven innings to pick up his fourth win of the season in Friday's 8-3 conference win at Austin College. Estrada fanned six and allowed just one earned run during his outing, and ends the regular season as the conference's strikeout leader with 67. Sophomore left-hander Brandon Morio of Trinity led the eighth-ranked Tigers to a three-game SCAC weekend sweep against Southwestern, closing out the regular season on a 12-game winning streak to secure the SCAC Regular Season Championship and top seed at the upcoming conference tournament. Morio pitched 4.2 shutout innings in relief in his only appearance of the weekend, giving up just two hits and recording three strikeouts in Saturday's shutout victory. This season, Morio is 6-0 with a 1.64 ERA in 11 appearances, recording 40 strikeouts in 38.1 innings. Senior Joshua Werner of Southwestern struck out five batters in two innings of relief against Trinity last Saturday.
