LANDON MURRAY OF UNIVERSITY OF ST. THOMAS, a senior right-handed pitcher from Spring, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played from Monday, February 17 through Sunday, February 23. SCAC Baseball Release - Week 3
Murray was outstanding on the bump for the Celts, picking up the win in game two of the series against Southwestern (12-1) on Sunday. He pitched seven strong innings, allowing just one unearned run, scattering seven hits without issuing a single walk and striking out six batters.

Senior left-hander Tyler Herrera of Centenary picked up the win on the mound for the Diamond Gents on Saturday in their 18-6 win over Austin College as he worked six innings and allowed just one earned run on six hits with two walks and five strikeouts to improve to 2-1 on the season. Herrera now has 16 career wins which are tied for sixth in the division III era (2012-present) in Centenary program history. Senior Dakota Palmer of Concordia was outstanding on the bump last Sunday, earning a win in the Tornados’ 11-0 win over Schreiner. Palmer went 7.0 innings, scattering just four hits, while striking out three without allowing a single run. Palmer walked just two batters to post a 0.86 WHIP. Sophomore right-hander Ethan Wendel of McMurry was strong on the mound last weekend for the War Hawks, picking up a win on Saturday in a 10-0 win over Dallas. Wendel tossed 6.2 innings, scattering four hits and walking four, while striking out nine without allowing a single run. Senior right-hander Will Utchman of Ozarks went the distance for a complete game win against Principia on Sunday. Utchman scattered four hits over seven innings and fanned five. He issued just one walk. First-year pitcher Chase McGarr of Southwestern secured a key win over St. Thomas in the rubber match on Sunday to clinch a series win. McGarr went 3.0 innings, without allowing a run, giving up just two hits and striking out five to get the win. Senior left-hander Nolan McInvale of Texas Lutheran was stellar for the Bulldogs in a tough loss to Trinity on Sunday. McInvale was saddled with a non-decision, tossing 7.0 innings, allowing just two runs, while striking out 10 batters. First-year Jace Clay of Trinity lifted the Tigers to an SCAC doubleheader sweep over TLU on Sunday. Clay came on in relief of game two, pitching 7.0 innings to earn the victory. He allowed just two runs on one hit, though neither run was earned, and allowed the Tigers to rally in the ninth to finish the sweep.
