Lazo was outstanding in net last weekend for St. Thomas as the Celts secured four critical points and jumped into a tie for second on the table with one week remaining in the regular season. On Friday night, Lazo and the Celts earned a hard-fought point in a 1-1 double-overtime draw against previously unbeaten and untied upon Trinity. Lazo recorded a season-high nine saves in 110 minutes of action. Then on Sunday, Lazo backed that performance with six saves as St. Thomas handed Colorado College its first SCAC loss of the year, 2-1, in double-overtime. Lazo finished the weekend with 15 total saves, posting a .882 save percentage and a 0.84 goals-against average in 213:56 minutes of action.
Senior goalkeeper Keleher Felton of Colorado College registered 10 saves as the Tigers went 1-1 last week, including a season-high nine in a double-overtime loss to St. Thomas on Sunday. Felton posted a ,833 save percentage and a 1.09 goals-against average. Sophomore defender Mason Lubbe of Schreiner played strong on the Mountaineer backline in a 3-0 loss to Trinity last Sunday. Junior goalkeeper Jack Viles of Southwestern recorded his ninth and 10th shutout of the season, corralling four saves, two in the win over Austin College and two more in the overtime victory against Dallas. Sophomore midfielder Joseph Kuri of Trinity played great defense, creating key turnovers and even added the lone goal to help the Tigers tie St. Thomas, 1-1, on Friday night. He also anchored a defensive effort that shutout Schreiner, 3-0, on Sunday afternoon.
