JEFFERY WILLIAMS, UNIVERSITY OF ST. THOMAS, a graduate outfielder from Houston, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Hitter of the Week for games played from Monday, March 13 through Sunday, March 19. SCAC Baseball Release - Week 6
WILLIAMS was a force at the plate batting last week for the Celts, batting .600, going 9-for-15 in leading St. Thomas to a 2-2 record, including a 2-1 series win over Schreiner to open SCAC play. He finished the week with nine RBI, three doubles, a home run and six runs scored. Williams registered a hit in each contest, including three multiple hit performances. Additionally, Williams posted a .667 on-base percentage, and a 1.000 slugging percentage.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior second baseman Jobee Boone of Centenary led the Gents last week going 7-for-13 at the plate averaging .538 in an SCAC series victory over Texas Lutheran. Boone finished with three RBI and a stolen base. Senior utility Ezra Gore of Trinity led the Tigers to a series sweep against Austin College in SCAC play. He batted a steady .556, going 5-for-9 with four RBI, five runs scored, one double and a stolen base. Sophomore first baseman Caleb Hohman of Dallas hit .400 (6-for-15) at the plate in the Crusaders’ four games last week. Hohman finished with five RBI, two doubles, a home run, a stolen base and four runs scored. Senior infield Landon Durdin of Southwestern led the Pirates to an SCAC opening series victory against Dallas. Durdin maintained a .636 batting average (8-for-14) for the series, registered two RBI and one stolen base. Freshman outfielder Mason Goudeau of Texas Lutheran led the Bulldogs last week, averaging .333, going 6-for-18 with four RBI, one double, and three stolen bases against Centenary.
