Cook, a junior from Friendswood, Texas, and Hoover, a junior from Spring, Texas, went 2-0 in the Celts' two victories this weekend at the Waco Tennis Complex in Waco, Texas.
The duo picked up a pair of crucial wins at No. 3 doubles, defeating their counterparts at McMurry 8-6, and Howard Payne, 8-3, which led to team victories against both squads. The Celts defeated McMurry, 5-4, and Howard Payne, 5-3.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Graduate student Carson Kirk and senior Jonathan Barragan of Schreiner went 1-1 at No. 1 doubles over the weekend, dropping their Friday match to East Texas Baptist before bouncing back with an 8-6 victory over Covenant's Ben Onufrock and Austin Dreslinsk on Saturday. Senior Travis Rafferty and sophomore Bernie Clemente of Southwestern earned an 8-7 victory (8-6) at No. 2 doubles over their counterparts from Covenant (Ga.) on Friday.
