ANDRES PADRON OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ST. THOMAS, a freshman from Pasadena, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for meets ran Monday, September 20 through Sunday, September 26. SCAC Cross Country Release (Week 4)
Padron helped lead the Celts to a fifth place team finish at the Concordia (Texas) University Classic as the freshman placed second overall in a field of 110 runners. Padron finished in a time of 26:09 over the 8K race with a 5:15 pace - posting his second runner-up finish of the fall season.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Noah Dennis of Southwestern finished seventh overall, posting a personal best time of 26:37.3 in a strong field at the Concordia (Texas) Classic on Friday night. He finished as the second-best SCAC runner in the meet, in helping the team finish as the top SCAC team and third overall. Junior Thomas Lagarde of Dallas finished in 250th place out of 372 runners with a time of 29:32 at the prestigious Roy Griak Invitational - contested on one of the most difficult courses in the nation. Sophomore Johari Dramiga of Texas Lutheran led the Bulldogs in the Concordia (Texas) Classic posting a time of 28:54.5 to finish 40th.
