VICTORIA SOSSAMAN OF UNIVERSITY OF ST. THOMAS, a sophomore right-hander from Cypress, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Pitcher-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, April 7 through Sunday, April 13. SCAC Softball Release - Week 10
Sossaman was lights out in the circle this week, going a perfect 3-0 across three complete-game starts. She tossed 19.0 innings with a 1.11 ERA and an impressive 21 strikeouts, holding opponents to a .169 batting average and just 11 total hits.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore right-hander Kylie Kirk of Concordia (Texas) went 1-0 with a save in the series against Austin College. In the game two victory, Kirk tossed a no-hitter where she only allowed runners on base in the third inning. Kirk's outing marks the program's sixth no-hitter (first since 2018, Jorden Russell). She then came in to earn a save in game three with three strikeouts and helped move the Tornados' win streak to nine. Senior right-hander Amanda White of Texas Lutheran improved to 16-0 on the season, throwing the first of three Bulldog complete game shutouts on the weekend. Senior right-hander SunnyDale Thies of Dallas made three impactful appearances this week during an emotional senior celebration weekend, including a complete game shutout and a clutch save, earning both a win and a save along the way. Over 9.0 innings, she posted a stellar 1.56 ERA, allowed just six hits, and held opponents to a .176 batting average with zero home runs. Her command was elite, striking out nine while issuing only two walks, resulting in an impressive 0.89 WHIP.
