Senior left-handed pitcher Morgan Haupt of Ozarks continued her strong start to the season with a pair of road wins against Schreiner. In game one, Haupt tossed a three-hitter in a complete game effort. She followed that outing with another three-hit complete game. She totaled ten strikeouts and issued just two walks in 14.0 innings of work, helping the Eagles sweep their conference-opening series. Sophomore Victoria Sossaman of St. Thomas was sensational in the circle for the Celts, posting a perfect 3-0 record including two complete game efforts in helping UST sweep McMurry to open up SCAC play. In 13.0 innings of work, Sossaman recorded nine strikeouts, allowed just nine hits and only two earned runs. Junior Katelyn Howard of Texas Lutheran went 2-0 in the circle last weekend to help the Bulldogs complete an opening SCAC series sweep of Concordia. In 9.1 innings of work, Howard scattered 11 hits, allowing just three earned runs, including 5.2 innings of shutout innings in the series finale. She also struck out four batters in the process of securing two wins in the circle.
