Anna Scarbrock, Centenary College, Pitcher of the Week (Week 8)

ANNA SCARBROCK OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a senior right-hander from Alexandria, La., has been named the SCAC Softball Pitcher-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, March 24 through Sunday, March 30. SCAC Softball Release - Week 8

Scarbrock had a sensational week for the Ladies as she did not allow an earned run in 14 innings as she tossed a pair of complete games, on Tuesday at home versus LeTourneau, and then on Saturday in league play at Dallas in game one of a DH. Scarbrock, who now has five CG's this season, allowed one unearned run and seven hits in the two starts with no walks and four strikeouts as she helped lead the Ladies to a DH sweep of the Yellow Jackets on Tuesday and a weekend sweep of the Crusaders. Centenary has won a season-high eight games in a row and it is the Ladies' longest winning streak since March 16-24, 2019. 

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First year pitcher Karlee Mathis of Concordia was firing on all cylinders in a 4-0, complete game shutout in game two of the series against Schreiner. Mathis only allowed five runners on base (four hits, one walk) and struck out a pair of batters to earn the victory in the circle. Senior pitcher Mackenzie McClellan of McMurry earned a win and a save in her two appearances last week for the War Hawks. McClellan closed out the game in a 7-5 win over Austin College then tossed a complete game in the second game of the double header a 9-1 win over the ‘Roos. In total she tossed seven innings, scattering five hits, allowing just one earned run while striking out four. Senior left-handed pitcher Morgan Haupt of Ozarks earned the win in the Eagles 3-2 win over Lyon on the road last week. She tossed a complete game, going seven innings, while striking out nine batters in the win. She then tossed a complete game, four hit effort in a tough luck loss to TLU on the weekend. For the week, Haupt struck out 11 batters. Sophomore pitcher Victoria Sossaman of St. Thomas went 1-1 in the circle last week for the Celts, picking up a win on the road against non-conference foe, Howard Payne. In total, Sossaman tossed 11.0 innings, struck out 13 and posted an impressive 0.91 WHIP and 1.27 ERA. Senior Amanda White of Texas Lutheran went 3-0 on the week including a big win over Trinity to complete the season series sweep and three no-hit innings in game one against Ozarks. White only allowed five hits over 16.1 innings pitched this week. White leads the SCAC in wins and ERA and is amongst the national leaders in both categories.
