PARKER PRIMEAUX OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a senior right-handed pitcher from Lake Charles, Louisiana, has been named the SCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played from Monday, April 17 through Sunday, April 23. SCAC Baseball Release - Week 11
Primeaux tossed a complete-game shutout on Saturday in a 6-0 victory over Southwestern in game one of a DH as he limited the Pirates to just three hits in his nine innings of work. Primeaux walked three, hit one, and struck out eight, facing 33 batters and throwing 113 pitches (70 strikes). The shutout is Primeaux’s second of the season and the CG was his first and third of his career. Against a talented Southwestern lineup, Primeaux retired the final eight batters in order, as he got stronger as the game progressed.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First year left-handed pitcher Kadin Munson of St. Thomas, despite the no-decision, was electric in six innings of work against Austin College last weekend. Munson struck out 14 batters and scattered just six hits without allowing a run in his appearance. Junior right-hander Brendan Beard of Texas Lutheran tossed 4.2 innings of relief, only allowing one hit and striking out five for the win in the series opener against Dallas last weekend. Junior right-handed pitcher Cade McGahan of Trintiy led the Tigers to a 3-1 record last week, including a three-game SCAC weekend series sweep against Schreiner. McGahan tossed a complete-game two-hit shutout in the series opener against the Mountaineers on Friday night. He struck out six batters in the seven-inning game that the Tigers won 10-0.
