HAILEE LEGER OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a freshman pitcher from Belle Chasse, La., has been named the SCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week for games played from Monday, February 1 through Sunday, February 7.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior pitcher Lindsey Longuet of St. Thomas went 1-1 in the circle last weekend, helping guide the Celts to their first win in program history. She got the win in relief in game two, pitching four innings, allowing just one hit and one earned run with four strikeouts. In total, Longuet pitched 10 innings, scattering eight hits, striking out nine batters and allowed four earned runs for a 2.80 ERA. Freshman pitcher Sydney Ouellette of Texas Lutheran tossed a complete-game, six-hitter in a 4-2 road win over NCAA Division II St. Mary’s (Texas). The 5-10 second-year freshman struck out five and walked just one. She allowed two earned runs. Senior pitcher Allie Holbrook of Trinity started off the 2021 Tiger softball season with a strong performance, leading Trinity to a doubleheader sweep at home against the University of Texas at Dallas. Holbrook earned the complete-game victory in game one, allowing two runs on eight hits, and striking out six batters. After giving up two first-inning runs, Holbrook tossed six shutout innings to close out the game and allow the offense to rally for the win.
