MADELINE VACULA OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a sophomore from Belton, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week for performances during meets swam Saturday, September 17 to Saturday, October 1. SCAC Swimming & Diving Release (Week 1)
Vacula had a fantastic season-opening meet for the Ladies on Saturday at home versus Ozarks as she earned three individual victories and was also part of the squad's victorious 200-yard medley relay team. She won the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:05.24, the 100-yard IM in 1:08.11, and the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:26.38.
Vacula, coming off of a superb rookie season in which she earned all-conference honors, now owns 10 individual wins in her young career.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Senior Rosie Wade of the University of the Ozarks won the 200 freestyle in 2:05.30, the 100 freestyle in 58.23, and was part of the winning 200 freestyle relay team in Saturday's dual meet against Centenary.
