TYLER POST OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a junior first-baseman from San Antonio, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Hitter of the Week for games played from Monday, April 17 through Sunday, April 23. SCAC Baseball Release - Week 11
Post continued his phenomenal season last weekend, leading the Bulldogs at the plate in an SCAC sweep over Dallas to move TLU into a tie for first place in the league standings going into the final weekend of the regular season. He hit .545, going 6-for-11 with nine RBI, three runs scored, one home run and one double. Post walked twice to post an on-base percentage of .563 and registered a .909 slugging percentage over the three games. Post now leads the league with 55 RBI and 10 home runs on the year.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior outfielder Ty Preston of Trinity led the Tiger baseball team to a 3-1 overall record last week, which included a three-game sweep in SCAC action against Schreiner. Preston hit .600 (6-for-10) for the week with two runs scored and five RBI. He had two doubles among his six hits and also drew five walks to boost his OBP to .600 for the four games. He went 2-for-4 with three RBI to spark Trinity to a 9-1 win in game one of Saturday’s doubleheader against the Mountaineers. ]
