BRADY DYGERT OF AUSTIN COLLEGE, a senior linebacker from Magnolia, Texas, has been named the SCAC Football Defensive Player of the Week for games played Saturday, November 16. SCAC Football Release (Week 11)
Dygert had a monster game in Saturday's Homecoming win over Lyon which resulted in a 31-21 victory for the 'Roos. Celebrating his Senior Day, Dygert recorded 18 tackles, forced a fumble, and had a pass breakup. It was his sixth game this year with at least 13 tackles, and he finishes the season with 122 stops, moving him into fifth place all-time in SCAC history for single-season tackles.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First-year linebacker Marvin Farris of Texas Lutheran posted a career-high 13 tackles in the Bulldogs' 17-10 overtime victory against Southwestern. He was also credited with 1.5 tackles for loss. Senior linebacker Herman Lee of McMurry charted seven total tackles (five solo and two assisted), inclduing three tackles for loss of six yards, in Saturday's 49-12 season-ending victory over Centenary. The War Hawks defense limited Centenary to one offensive touchdown and 117 yards total offense. Sophomore defensive lineman Gavin Jack of Centenary had an impressive performance for the Gents on Saturday and was credited with four solo tackles, three tackles for loss, and a sack.
