Two from SCAC Named to Mitchell Award September Watch List

SUWANEE, Ga. - Millsaps senior Taylor Russolino and Trinity sophomore Garrett Biel were both named to the Fred Mitchell Award watch list for the month of September. The award honors the outstanding college football place-kicker for performance on the field and in the community.

Biel leads the Tigers in scoring with 19 points. He has connected on 4-4 field goals in three games, and made 7-9 PATs. Biel’s 48-yard field goal against Rhodes tied for the third-longest in Trinity history. His 45-yard FG against Millsaps tied for the eighth-longest in Tiger history. He ranks fifth in school field goals made (21) and attempted (23), in his second season of competition. Biel also holds the highest-ever Trinity field goal percentage (91.3 percent).

Russolino has conected on both of his field goal attempts this season. He kicked a season-long 32-yard field goal in the Majors' 27-23 season-opening loss to 22nd-ranked Mississippi College. Russolino is second on the team in scoring with 19 points.

Public recognition is provided monthly to eligible place-kickers that have performed at an extraordinary level on the football field. Special recognition is also given to place-kickers that have differentiated themselves by proactively volunteering in their local community. Publicity of this monthly recognition will be provided to media in large markets and in the markets of the place-kickers receiving the monthly honors.
