Colorado College and Southwestern Receive Bids to 2010 NCAA Division III Volleyball Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The NCAA Division III Women’s Volleyball Committee announced today the field of 63 teams for the 2010 NCAA Division III Women’s Volleyball Championship, and Colorado College and Southwestern University both received bids. Complete Bracket

Colorado College (30-6) and champions of the SCAC, received the only bye in the field and will take on the winner of Randolph-Macon (Va.) College (25-7) and Franklin & Marshall (Pa.) College (22-6) at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Va.

Southwestern University (29-6) takes on Thomas More (Ky.) College (28-7) in its first round match which will be at Emory University in Atlanta, Ga.

Forty-two conferences were awarded automatic qualification for the 2010 championship.  Two teams were selected from Pool B, which consists of independent institutions and institutions that are members of conferences that do not meet the requirements for automatic qualification. The final 19 berths were reserved for Pool C, which consists of institutions from automatic-qualifying conferences that are not the conference champion and any remaining Pool B teams.

Regional competition will be Friday-Sunday, November 12-14, at all sites except Wittenberg, where competition will be Thursday-Saturday, November 11-13.
