Trinity Clinches Playoff Bid With Road Win Over DePauw Friday

GREENCASTLE, Ind. - The defending SCAC champion Trinity Tigers men, ranked No. 1 in the nation, clinched a share of the conference title and an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III playoffs with a 2-1 victory over the DePauw Tigers Friday night. BOX SCORE

Trinity (17-2-0, 10-0-0 SCAC), which won its ninth straight game, wraps up the regular season Sunday in a SCAC game with Centre in Danville, Ky. NCAA bids will be announced Monday.
 
Tiger junior midfielder Josh Adams provided both goals for Trinity, starting with a score in the seventh minute of play. First-year midfielder Yuri Ribeiro supplied the assist. DePauw tied the score at 1-1, as Stephen Keller scored on a penalty kick in the 41st minute. But, in the second half, during the 59th minute, Adams took a cross from junior forward Cameron Hogsett for the game-winning goal.
 
Senior goalkeeper Joe Benefield recorded two saves in the game, while yielding the penalty kick.
 
Trinity led DePauw 11-8 in total shots.
