LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- The 2019-20 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball season tipped off with half of the league in play on Friday.
Austin College starts the season at the top of the leaderboard with the only undefeated mark of the week. The ‘Roos picked up an 98-59 victory over Howard Payne on Friday with an 82-66 victory over Rhodes on Saturday. Michael Holland led the ‘Roos with 17 points and 11 rebounds in victory over Howard Payne, adding 12 points in win over Rhodes.
Schreiner split contests with their first victory of the season over McMurry (98-78) on Friday. In Friday’s contest forward Paul Wells lead the Mountaineers posting 19 points and seven rebounds.
Texas Lutheran also split their first two contests of the season. The Bulldogs earned their victory over McMurry by a single point for final score of 60-59, with Caleb Lister posting a career-high 27 points.
Trinity dropped a pair of games this week, with a close game against George Fox, 93-99. The Tigers were led by Jordan Lippman with a career-high 19 points.
Johnson & Wales went 0-3 over the weekend with a tight three-point loss against Pacific (96-99) led by freshman Andray Thomas Jr. with 41 of the Wildcats 96 total points.
The first full week of the SCAC Men’s Basketball season continues with nine out of ten teams in action this week.
