LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Only one team competed in the final week prior to the holiday break with Trinity University hosting a trio of Division I teams at its own Holiday Invitational.
The Trinity women scored 120 points and trailed by just 10 against the University of the Incarnate Word, and the Tigers were also runners-up to New Mexico State University by a final score of 168-77.
Mabel Fowler led Trinity's women's team by winning the 200 freestyle in 1:52.70 and leading off the winning 200 free relay team. Star Rosales, Morgen Reyna, and Caroline North joined Fowler with a winning time of 1:36.84 in the event. The quartet also earned a third-place finish in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:48.45.
Anabelle Conde was the runner-up in both the 500 and 1,000 freestyle races. She finished the 500 in 5:13.85 and move to fifth in school history with her time of 10:47.76 in the 1,000.
Reyna and Rosales also put up two of the team's best times this season in the 50 free. Reyna was third in a season-best time of 24.30 and Rosales finished in 24.52 to tie for the second-fastest time of the year.
Karin Petersen was second in the 200 individual medley with her time of 2:17.92 to round out the top Tiger women's finishers.
Katarina Partales and Maren Merwarth both finished in the top five in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events. Partales also turned in an NCAA qualifying score of 261.60 on the low board.
Five SCAC teams will be in action to open the New Year with Colorado College participating in the Orange Bowl Classic on Friday, Jan. 3. McMurry plays host to Simpson (Iowa) in a dual on Thursday, Jan. 9 while Centenary and Univeristy of the Ozarks travel to Austin College on Saturday, Jan. 11 for the AC Invite.
