MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Three Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference football student-athletes earned D3Football.com Team of the Week recognition after a successful weekend in league action.
Trinity University's Jordan Williams, the SCAC Special Teams Player of the Week earned recognition for his performance on special teams, while Southwestern safety Aaron Robinson and defensive tackle Kyle Perlowski were also honored.
Williams returned two blocked punts for touchdowns in the third quarter, helping the Tigers score 14 unanswered points in a 38-17 victory at Austin College. He blocked the first punt of the quarter for the 'Roos, then took it back 10 yards for a score. Late in the quarter, he returned another blocked punt 10 yards for another score.
Perlowski posted eight tackles, including two for loss, and he forced a fumble in the opening quarter that led to a touchdown as Southwestern defeated Texas Lutheran, 42-38.
Robinson posted nine tackles, including three and a half for loss, and two sacks in a 42-38 win over Texas Lutheran. Robinson, who also broke up a pass, totaled 14 yards on his tackles behind the line of scrimmage.
Both teams will continue the season this weekend.
