KERRVILLE, Texas -- Austin Carrola has been named the new head coach for the Schreiner University Men’s and Women’s Tennis Programs.
Carrola has built up his tennis resume starting when he was on the junior circuit. He was number 1 in the San Antonio Grand Prix for four consecutive years. Along with this ranking, he had won three district championships in singles with four appearances at regionals. Carrola capped of his senior year with a district, regional, and state championship in mix doubles.
After a very successful tennis career Carrola joined the Schreiner tennis program. He was awarded ASC West Division Honorable mention in singles and second team doubles in 2013. Carrola and his doubles partner also made it to the Quarterfinals of the ITA by beating two ranked opponents (UT Tyler and Trinity) in 2013. Carrola capped off his senior year by going undefeated at #1 doubles at the SCAC Championships in 2015. He was also named team MVP and awarded All-Conference in his final season (2015). Carrola played number #1/#2 singles and #1 doubles all four years at Schreiner University. Upon graduating from Schreiner he stayed with the program and continued to serve in a leadership role as an assistant coach. In his two years as assistant he helped lead the men and women’s programs to winning records and had teams that were ranked regionally and nationally.
He received his BA in Sports Management from Schreiner University in Kerrville, TX and MA in Sport Management/Coaching Administration from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA.
