LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Three SCAC women's teams were on the course this week with all three competing at the Hardin-Simmons University Abilene Intercollegiate at Diamondhead Golf Course in Abilene.
Southwestern took off eight strokes on day two and jumped one spot to finish in second place with a two-day total of 634 at the Abilene Intercollegiate to close its fall season. First-year golfer Leilani McDaniel had a huge comeback, shaving seven strokes off her opening round to come in tied for second place with 153 strokes (80-73). Her 73 in the second round tied for the second lowest round of the tournament.
Schreiner shot a final round 328 and retained its fourth place position. The Mountaineers finished with a two-day total of 652. Senior Kaycee Bankert again posted the low round of the day for Schreiner with a 79 and earned All-Tournament honors with her fifth-place finish at 156 for 36 holes.
Texas Lutheran brought home an eight-place team finish as the Bulldogs followed up Monday's 367 with a team score of 358 for a two-day total of 725. Freshman golfer Summer Swift led TLU on Tuesday with a final round of 84. She finished in 26th place overall.
University of Texas at Tyler won the tournament with rounds of 312 and 298 for a two-day total of 610, 24 shots clear of Southwestern.
