Kamden Ross, Schreiner University, Player of the Week (Week 15)

KAMDEN ROSS OF SCHREINER UNIVERSITY, a sophomore center from Cibolo, Texas, has been named the SCAC Men’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played Monday, February 13th through Sunday, February 19th. SCAC Men's Basketball Release (Week 15)

Ross was outstanding last weekend with the Mountaineers season on the line and a bid into the SCAC Tournament up for grabs. Over two contests he poured in 35 points and grabbed 34 rebounds, posting a double-double in each game, highlighted by his 23 points, 22 rebound performance in the Mountaineers win over Texas Lutheran on Saturday. In a must win for Schreiner in order to extend its season, Ross’ 20/20 performance was the first of its kind in an SCAC contest since 2006. In addition Ross added one assist and three steals on the weekend.  

 Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:

Freshman guard Nick Anderson of St. Thomas led the Celts to a pair of SCAC victories, defeating Centenary and Colorado College to solidify their undefeated SCAC season. Anderson averaged 19.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.0 steals, 0.5 blocks and 0.5 assists per game while shooting 54.2% (13-of-24) from the field and 90% (9-for-10) from the line. He scored 27 points on 9-for-16 shooting against the Tigers. Junior guard Braeden Board of Centenary averaged 14.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.5 blocks and 0.5 steals per game last weekend. Board led the Gents with a career-high of 25 points in a tough road loss at St. Thomas on Tuesday. Senior guard A.J. Clark of Trinity averaged 15.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game. Clark led the Tigers to an undefeated weekend while going 16-for-19 from the free throw line. In addition, the senior reached the 1000-career-point mark. Sophomore forward Aiden Price of Colorado College averaged 11 points and three rebounds per game last week for the Tigers. Price connected on 71.4% (10-for14) from the field over the two contests, that helped lift Colorado College back into the SCAC Tournament and the No. 4 seed.
