EMMIE RHUDE OF SCHREINER UNIVERSITY, a sophomore from Cave Creek, Ariz., has been selected the SCAC Women’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played from Wednesday, October 18 through Tuesday, October 24. SCAC Golf Release (Week 6)
After opening with a 77 on Monday at the Hardin-Simmons/Abilene Intercollegiate, Rhude blistered the 5,711 yard-par 71 Diamondback Golf Course for six birdies on Tuesday en route to a final round 68 to give the sophomore a cumulative score of 145 (+3) and medalist honors with a one-shot victory over Southwestern's Ryleigh Erickson.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior Ryleigh Erickson of Southwestern shot rounds of 74 and 72 to finish with a two-day total of 146 (+4) and a runner-up finish at the Abilene Intercollegiate. Erickson's efforts led the way for the Pirates who won the team event by seven shots over the host school Hardin-Simmons. Junior Kimberly Burch of Dallas shaved four strokes off her round two score to shoot a 75 in round three, climbing two spots on the leaderboard to 19th place as the leader for the Crusaders who finished fourth of six teams competing at the Chicken Express Open.
