DYLAN MACKEY OF SCHREINER UNIVERSITY, a junior forward from Houston, Texas, has been named the SCAC Men’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, November 13 through Sunday, November 19. SCAC Men's Basketball Release (Week 2)

Mackey was outstanding in all three games last week, averaging 21 points, 6.6 assists per game, 7 total rebounds, and 4 steals total. Mackey was 85.7 percent on 6-of-7 from the free-throw line over the Mountaineers 2-1 weekend. He scored in double-figures in all three games with 10 points against Concordia in a 109-102 win, 26 points against Puget Sound in their 104-95 win, then scored 27 points, 4-7 from beyond the arc, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists while falling to Whitworth 88-71 on Nov. 19.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:

Junior guard Calvin Williams IV of St. Thomas averaged 19.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game for the Celts going undefeated in both games last weekend. Williams IV put up 23 points and 3 rebounds in an 73-71 victory over Hardin-Simmons, and followed up with 16 points and 4 rebounds in the win over Texas-Dallas. He managed to tally 7.0 assists and 7.0 rebounds total. Senior guard Xavier Phillips of Texas Lutheran averaged 13.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game as the Bulldogs split a pair of games on the week. Phillips put up 10 points and 2 rebounds in an 78-77 upset victory over #15 Nationally Ranked UMHB, and followed up with 17 points and 5 rebounds in the loss to Texas-Dallas. First-year guard Christian Green of Trinity led the Tigers to a 2-0 start, posting an average of 12.5 points per game. Green made 56.3 percent of his shots, 63.6 percent from the charity stripe and had 7.5 boards per game. Junior forward Brock Luechtefeld of Southwestern was a key contributor for the Pirates, shooting 72 percent from the field and was 100 percent on 8-of-8 from the stripe. Junior guard Scott Ruegg of Colorado College had a team-high 13.5 points per game 3.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists. Ruegg willed the Tigers to their lone win against Pacific (Ore.) with 13 points, shooting 80 percent on 4-of-5 from the field, 66.7 percent on 2-of-3 from beyond the arc and 75 percent on 3-of-4 from the line. Senior forward Jack Boyle of Dallas led the Crusaders with three games scoring in double figures. Boyle averaged 20 points, 11.7 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game while shooting 53.5 percent from the field.
