Miles was outstanding last week, leading the Mountaineers to a pair of key SCAC road victories, highlighted by a career-high 33 points in a 75-71 win over Texas Lutheran on Sunday. She connected on 11-of-20 from the field, including 5-of-10 from three. Miles opened the weekend with 29 points on a blistering 63.2 percent shooting (12-of-19) in a win over Southwestern. Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Senior guard Sarah Gwin of Austin College came up just short of a triple-double in the ‘Roos’ lone game last week, a 62-33 blowout victory over Howard Payne on Tuesday. Gwin scored 16 points, grabbed nine rebounds, and handed out nine assists -- her third straight game with at least that number of assists -- and also added four steals and a blocked shot. Senior forward Rosie Braley of Colorado College led the Tigers to a pair of SCAC road wins last weekend, averaging 15.5 points per game, including a season-high 21 in the win at St. Thomas on Sunday. Junior guard Ce’Briaya Bell of St. Thomas led a Celt team which earned their second SCAC victory of the season with a win at Centenary last Tuesday. On the week Bell averaged 14.0 points per game, shooting an impressive 73.3 percent from the floor. She also grabbed five rebounds and snagged four steals in two contests for the Celts. Sophomore guard Kailee Mulkey of Texas Lutheran scored a career-high 23 points behind a career-high seven made threes against Schreiner, falling one three short of the program record of eight made threes. For the week, Mulkey averaged 20.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 4.5 assists, including a career-high five assists against Trinity. Sophomore guard Josie Napoli of Trinity recorded her first two 20-point games of her Tiger career in last weekend's sweep of Texas Lutheran, 76-65, and Southwestern, 125-89, to remain undefeated thus far in 2022-23.
