Centre football team to play British National Team

DANVILLE, Ky. - The Centre football team will be taking on the British National Football Team, the Great Britain Lions, on Saturday, May 29 in London, England at 5:00 p.m. at the Crystal Palace.

The Colonels will leave for London on Wednesday, May 26. Centre is taking 62 football players to play in the exhibition game against the Great Britain Lions. The Lions are preparing to play in the European Cup in July, where they will face other European national teams.

Centre was allowed 10 practices in full pads by the NCAA for their trip overseas.

In 2005, the Colonels took on the Great Britain Lions and won 27-14.

On Saturday, September 4 the Centre football team will open up their season against Hanover College at home in Danville, Ky. Kick-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
