Trinity in second place after day one of NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships

GREENCASTLE, Ind. - Thanks to senior Todd Wildman's repeat nation championship in the pentathlon and a surprising second place finish in the distance medley relay, the Trinity University Tigers find themselves in second place after day one of the 2010 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships.

Trinity posted 18 points and trails only North Central College in the team standings after the first day of competition.

Wildman's win in the pentathlon, an 87 point win over Linfield College's Josh Lovell, was the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference's 20th individual national championship.

Tiger teammates Chass Armstrong, Brennen Peters, Zach Brush and Bryant Wright tallied a second place finish in the distance medley relay by posting a 10:02.45. They finished less than a tenth of a second behind Wisconsin-Stevens Point (0.07).

Other SCAC performers included host DePauw University's Chris Dietrick. Dietrick competed in the 800 meter run and posted a time of 1:55.71. However, Dietrick did not qualify for the finals.
