WACO, Texas - The Texas Lutheran Bulldogs (6-0, 3-0) cracked the American Football Coaches Association Division III Coaches' Poll with a national ranking of No. 25 in this week's poll. TLU also received votes for D3football.com Top 25 poll.

The Top 25 ranking is the Bulldogs' first as a football member of the NCAA Division III.

TLU, a winner of seven straight games dating back to the 2012 season, is 6-0 overall. The Bulldogs won the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference with a 3-0 run through the league.

The Bulldogs have received votes in the AFCA poll for six consecutive weeks. TLU is receiving votes in the D3football.com Top 25 for a fourth consecutive week.

The national ranking by the AFCA is the first Top 25 national football ranking of any kind for the Bulldogs since 1984. The Bulldogs of 1984 were ranked 16th in the NAIA Division I Football Top 20 on Nov. 7, 1984. The Bulldogs were ranked as high as No. 3 in the 1984 NAIA poll after starting the season 5-0-1.

TLU defeated Mississippi College 35-32 on the road Saturday in Clinton, Miss. The Choctaws had won three consecutive games entering the non-conference contest. TLU and MC were members together in the American Southwest Conference from 1998 to 2012. Saturday's game was the first non-conference meeting between the schools.

TLU hosts Louisiana College (5-2, 3-1 ASC) this Saturday at Seguin's Matador Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.

In an American Southwest Conference game last season in Pineville, La., LC defeated TLU 44-37 in the first overtime. LC and TLU played each other in the ASC from 2000 to 2012. TLU officially moved to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference on July 1, 2013. Saturday's game will be the first non-conference contest between the two schools since 1961, when the Wildcats won 7-0.

Saturday's game in Seguin will have a live video webcast and live stats from tlubulldogs.com. Seguin's KWED 1580 AM will have the radio broadcast and an audio-only webcast on seguintoday.com. Pre-game coverage begins at 12:30 p.m.
