Five Trinity Players Named to the NSCAA Women's All-West Region Team

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Five student-athletes from Trinity University were named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-West Region Team on Tuesday evening.

Senior Jennifer White and juniors Emily Jorgens and Kelsey Falcone earned First Team honors.

White, a senior from Albuquerque, N.M., was the SCAC Defensive Player of the Year where she was a defensive stalwart for the Tigers. Especially adept at anticipating service to the feet, and cutting out possession, White was the leader of the SCAC's best defense which posted 16 shutouts, and allowed only six goals in 22 games. Included in the stat were only two goals in conference play. White also contributed to the offensive effort with two goals and seven assists. In postseason play, White has been tremendous defensively, leading the Trinity defense as they have marched to the Final Four.

Jorgens, a junior from Austin, Texas, won her second consecutive Player of the Year honors, and led the SCAC in scoring with 17 goals (seven game-winners) and a conference single-season record of 28 assists. In the playoffs, Jorgens has added a goal and an assist including a key goal late in the game against Illinois Wesleyan to push the game into overtime where the Tigers eventually won in PKs. She is one assist away from tying the Division III single season record of 30. Jorgens is the holder of a SCAC-record 60 career assists. Her 140 career points ranks seventh on the conference all-time scoring list.

Falcone, a junior from San Antonio, Texas, was selected as the 2013 SCAC Tournament Offensive MVP. She scored a SCAC-leading 19 goals (four game-winners) on the season to go with 11 assists in leading the Tigers to their 18th SCAC Championship. In postseason play, Falcone has been absolutely terrific, scoring two goals and adding two assists to lead the Tigers offensively. Falcone has scored in 17 of the 26 matches played this season as the Tigers have outscored their opponents 122-10 in 2013. Falcone has scored 34 career goals to go with 27 career assists and 95 points.

Seniors Michelle Lanier and Shelby Guenthard were named to the Second Team. 

Lanier, a senior from Albuquerque, N.M., was a tremendous offensive threat all season long, scoring 13 goals and adding 13 assists on the season. 

Guenthard, a senior from San Antonio, Texas, scored 17 goals on the season which was third in the SCAC and added 13 assists. She has tallied 52 total goals in her career, which is ninth all-time in goals scored in the SCAC.
