MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Trinity Univeristy junior midfielders Emily Jorgens and Kelsey Falcone have been named to the D3soccer.com Women’s All-America Team.

Additionally, Jorgens was named the D3soccer.com Midfielder of the Year. Jorgens was selected as First Team All-American and Falcone made the Second Team.

Both players were instrumental in the Tigers run to the NCAA Division III Championship game, played at San Antonio’s Toyota Field. Trinity defeated Middlebury 2-1 in the semifinals, and lost 2-0 to William Smith (NY) in the final.

Jorgens was a D3soccer.com Second Team All-American in 2012, and a Third Team honoree in 2011. Earlier, Jorgens was elected to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America First Team. Last year, she made the NSCAA All-America Second team.

The talented Jorgens received a number of high awards and accolades this season: Capital One Academic All-American of the Year, NCAA Elite 89 Award (highest grade point average - 4.00 - at the NCAA semifinals and final), selection as an NSCAA Scholar All-American, a slot on the NCAA All-Tournament Team, election to the NSCAA All-Region Team, and garnered a coaches’ vote as Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year.

Jorgens led the Tigers with 66 points, scoring 18 goals (seven game-winners) and 30 assists. She tied the NCAA Division III single-season record for assists with 30.

Falcone was a first time D3soccer.com All-America selection. She also made the NSCAA All-America Second Team, and the NSCAA Scholar All-America Second Team (3.50 GPA). Falcone was named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team, the NSCAA All-Region Team, and the All-SCAC Team.

She was the Tigers leader with 21 goals scored this season (five game-winners), while also shelling out 14 assists.

Trinity 10th-year Head Coach Lance Key led the Tigers to a 25-1-2 record, as the Tigers set a school mark for wins in a season. The Tigers competed in their fifth straight NCAA Tournament (ninth in the past 10 years) and won an eighth SCAC Championship under Coach Key's leadership.
