SAN ANTONIO, Texas --
Trinity University women's soccer All-American Emily Jorgens has earned the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Elite 89 Award.

The Elite 89 Award was founded by the NCAA, and is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA's 89 championships.

Jorgens holds a 4.0 cumulative GPA, and is a junior midfielder for the second-ranked Tiger women. She has led the team to the NCAA Semifinals for the first time since 2002, and Trinity continues its run in the NCAA Playoffs on Friday, December 6, at 1:30 p.m. against Middlebury (VT) College.

This season, Jorgens has scored a school-record 65 points, netting 18 goals and 29 assists in 26 games. She has also scored seven game-winning goals to lead the team. The 29 assists for Jorgens is also a new school record, and is just one away from tying the all-time single season record in Division III.

Jorgens was also named the Capital One Division III Academic All-American of the Year, as well as earning National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-West Region and First Team All-American honors. She also earned Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year honors for the second consecutive season.
