LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -Trinity University and the University of Dallas took control of the SCAC Standings as they each went 2-0 on the weekend. Trinity combined to score 17 goals on the weekend while Dallas got a big performance from their defense. Texas Lutheran moved to 2-1 in the conference by splitting the weekend.

AROUND THE SCAC

Austin College women's soccer team fell in its lone game of the week, taking a 3-1 loss at the hands of the University of Dallas on Sunday. The 'Roos got a goal from  Lauren Scott in the loss, while Franchesca Lozoya made eight saves in the net. The 'Roos are now 2-6 overall this year, including 1-1 in conference play. This week the 'Roos head on the road once again to take on Southwestern on Friday and Trinity on Sunday, before returning home the following weekend for the first time in nearly a month.

Centenary went 0-2 on the week, including a 2-0 loss at Dallas in SCAC action.  Amanda Atwell and Carly Slovensky tallied the two goals on the week for the Maroon and White coming in a 3-2 loss to Le- Tourneau on Tuesday evening at Mayo Field. Erica Coker was saddled with the decision in net at UD allowing both goals by the Crusaders. The freshman totaled 135 minutes of action for the Ladies and collected 10 saves in the two contests. Lauren Cullen suffered her first loss of the season in the contest against LETU allowing two goals paired with two saves in the second half. Centenary returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 24 as the Ladies host Texas College at 6 p.m.

The University of Dallas women's soccer team went 2-1 on the week, registering two conference wins. On Tuesday, in Tyler, Texas, the Lady Crusaders fell 4-0 to the University of Texas-Tyler. Head coach Angelina Pane's squad had two conference games ahead. On Friday, Dallas won 2-0 over Centenary College of Louisiana. Junior forward Nicole Johnson tallied both goals, while junior defender Kayla Nguyen and sophomore forward Mariah Fairbanks each picked up an assist. On Sunday, the Lady Crusaders triumphed 3-1 over Austin College and their former head coach Kristina Corona. Soph- omore midfielder Abigale Weisbrod opened scoring with a goal at 53:36 from Johnson. Ten seconds later, the Lady 'Roos tied the contest on an unassisted Lauren Scott goal. Sophomore forward Rebecca Brunter provided the game-winning goal for Dallas in the 60th-minute from Weisbrod. Fairbanks added insurance and sealed the victory on an 88th-minute tally from Johnson. Dallas continues conference-play this week with two road games -- Texas Lutheran (Friday, 2 p.m.); Schreiner (Sunday, 1 p.m.).

The Schreiner Mountaineers went 0-2 on the week. On Saturday, Schreiner traveled to Southwestern, and fell 1-0. Against No. 5 Trin- ity on Sunday, the Mountaineers were again defeated, 10-0.  This week SU will host their lone match to Dallas on Sunday, Sept. 29th.

Southwestern women's soccer went 1-1 in SCAC play this week to move to 2-6 on the year and 1-1 in the conference. After a del- uge of rain the Pirates and Schreiner faced off and despite South- western controlling the majority of the game and recording several near misses at goal only won 1-0. Sunday against Texas Lutheran, Southwestern came out slow, struggling with the quick turnaround and fell behind 2-0 by halftime. Southwestern's adjustments were exactly what the Pirates needed as they rebounded with two goals to tie the match in the second half. TLU scored on a break- away to defeat the Pirates 3-2. Southwestern remains at home to face Austin College on Friday and Centenary on Sunday.

The Texas Lutheran women's soccer squad were shut out 7-0 on the road Friday evening against No. 5 Trinity. For a while it looked like Texas Lutheran would head into the locker room at halftime still within striking distance, only down 2-0, but Trinity scored three goals in the half's last four minutes to build a 5-0 lead at the half. The Bulldogs were outshot 53-4 on the game but played Trinity much closer in the second half, limit- ing the Tigers to just 12 shots in the game's final 45 minutes. Sioned Kirkpatrick scored the game winner late and Maegan Idrogo chipped in two goals of her own as the Texas Lutheran women's soccer squad came away with a 3-2 win on Sunday on the road against Southwestern. That goal came in the 80th minute when Kirkpatrick drove a shot from midfield that found the back of the net and put the Bulldogs back on top for good. In the first half, it didn't look like the Bulldogs would need Kirkpatrick's late-game heroics to seal a win after Idrogo came out of the gate on the attack, scoring two goals in the first 27 minutes of action.

No. 5 Trinity opened SCAC play with a pair of shutouts over the weekend, defeating both Texas Lutheran and Schreiner. Head Coach Lance Key picked up his 150th career win with Sunday's 10-0 win over Schreiner.  The Tigers defeated Texas Lutheran 7-0 on Friday night, and the team has now recorded five consecutive shutouts. Emily Jorgens moved up to second in Trinity history in career assists, passing Trinity Athletics Hall of Famer Tanya Rinebarger (Zwick) on the list.  She is also just five points from becoming the seventh player in school history to reach 100 in a career. Shelby Guenthardt added to her career goals over the weekend as well, mov- ing up to fifth in school history with 39 career goals scored. Trinity will continue SCAC play this weekend, hosting Centenary and Austin College on Friday and Sunday.  The Tigers recorded a pair of shutouts over each team last season.
