Colorado College and Trinity Tabbed as Preseason Men's Basketball Favorites

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- In exclusive balloting by SCAC men's head basketball coaches, Colorado College and Trinity University were selected as the preseason favorites to capture the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference title in 2014-15.

Both teams finished with 42 points and three first-place votes in the league's annual preseason poll of head coaches to share the top spot.

Trinity is the league's three-time defending champion and is attempting to become the first program in league history to win four straight SCAC men's tournament titles. The Tigers defeated Centenary College, 82-70, in the championship game of the 2014 tournament.

Centenary picked up the remaining two first-place votes and took third place in the preseason poll (40 points) while Schreiner University was fourth (33 points).

Rounding out the rest of the poll is Texas Lutheran University in fifth place (23 points) while Austin College and the University of Dallas finished tied for sixth (16 points). Southwestern University was eighth (12 points).

Poll results were tabulated by awarding seven points for a first-place vote, six points for a second-place vote, on down to one point for a seventh-place vote. Coaches voted for order of finish 1-7, but did not rank their own team.
